- Why doesn't anybody else play the music you do?
- Because they're all a bunch of chickens. No, really! But be forewarned--commercial oldies radio will catch up with us in a couple of years. They'll zero in on a marketable 70s nostalgia "format" and choke the life out of it. Think hearing "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" day after day is annoying? Try "Playground In My Mind" on for size. Cosmic Slop respects the listener! Enjoy it while you can...
- Wasn't the music of the 70s just a bunch of disco?
- No.
- Can you play Jimmy Buffett for me?
- Nope.
- How about Steely Dan?
- Get real. Cosmic Slop is about the forgotten pop of the seventies, not boring, stale Classic Rock. If we ever play "Margaritaville" or "Bodhisattva", you can be sure it will be drenched in irony.
- There's this one song by Mouth and MacNeal...?
- Now you're cooking with gas! Mouth, whose solo version of "Remember: Walking in the Sand" earned him the title "The Joe Cocker of Holland", and Maggie MacNeal, whose solo version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" earned her no title, but did set the stage for their collaboration on the international smash, "How Do You Do?" Cosmic Slop salutes you!
- What's the deal with Prog Rock Corner, anyway?
- Who'll shed a tear for the neglected "alternative" music of yesteryear? Blodwyn Pig and Magma were the Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails of their generation (think about it)! We at Cosmic Slop refuse to let this brilliant, ridiculous music languish unheard any longer. Each week, we shine the spotlight on a deserving Prog artist(e), and play a representative composition for your edification. Don't miss it!
